Sumit is a Clinical Social Work Intern who brings a calm, collaborative, and supportive presence to therapy. He understands that many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin. Sumit creates a nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, understand their emotions, and begin building meaningful change at a pace that feels right for them.
Sumit is currently completing his Master of Social Work at Boston University’s School of Social Work, specializing in behavioral health. He has experience working with adolescents, young adults, and families through his practicum at MissionSAFE, where he provided individual support, facilitated CBT‑informed groups, and helped clients strengthen coping skills, emotional regulation, and confidence. His background also includes crisis intervention work through Crisis Text Line and supportive counseling through 7 Cups.
In his clinical work, Sumit integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Strengths‑Based Therapy, and Mindfulness‑Based approaches. He supports teens, young adults, adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, emotional regulation challenges, identity concerns, relationship issues, and life transitions.
Outside of her clinical work Sumit finds a sense of ease through digital drawing, exploring new places, and enjoying a good cup of coffee simple moments that help him slow down, recharge, and stay grounded.
